Blog-TOWER OF BABELI was driving home from a 18 day trip last Tuesday. Always after a trip, I wonder when things in my life got so complicated and utterly confusing. I was dog tired to the bone after cleaning all the 16 drawers, closets, bells, bits and bobs on the monster Global XRS. I got to my car 2 hours after landing, threw my now useless suitcase, knockoff LV and some dripping yet saucy catering into my super fast honda ridge-line red truck at 5 p.m.. rush hour. AND THEN, I SAW HER.
HULA GIRL. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Instead of baby jesus bobble head, i opted, during a tag sale to don A Hula Girl to the loneliness of my dashboard.
She keeps her life simple. No cell phone, blackberry or ipod. 1 outfit, no shoes, no shirt for that matter. Just a lei and for music she had a little guitar, covering her "never” bra breasts.
She needs no perfume because of the fragrant orchids in her hair. There is a tuft of island grass beneath her perfect unconcealed soft feet. She is not wearing anything but a smile and she owes no drawers under that grass skirt. This girl does not even have a suitcase, a passport, no shame, no regret , not a care or concern what people think of her. She is my rock star of the 3 hour maddening drive to the homeland.
I sat there in full awe and respect. I took a moment. Please give me something to believe in. Hula girl had it going on.
